I want to tell you another little Dark Moon story.

A couple of years ago, I was in Tampa, Florida to speak at the I Can Do It event with Hay House. It was absolutely brilliant. The energy, the people, the conversations. One of those events you come home from buzzing.

I was about five minutes into my talk when I noticed something at the back of the room. Two familiar faces sneaking in quietly like naughty schoolchildren. It was @rebeccacampbell_author and @kylegrayuk trying not to be noticed.

I was teaching Moonology 101. The whole cycle. The Dark Moon. The New Moon. The Full Moon. And then back again. And when I got to the Dark Moon, I felt it. That shift. That spark. That place where I always feel most at home when I’m teaching.

After the session, Kyle came straight up to me and said, “Yasmin, when you spoke about the Dark Moon, you just lit up like a light. Like the Moon itself. You should do a deck of oracle cards about the Dark Moon.”

I can’t even describe how quickly I knew he was right.

It wasn’t a slow realisation. It was instant. One of those moments where your whole body says yes before your mind catches up. I knew it 100 percent, right there on the spot.

Years ago, I became completely obsessed with the Dark Moon.

I don’t even remember where I got the book from. I just know I took it away with me on holiday, somewhere in France, probably about five years ago. It was Mysteries of the Dark Moon by Demetra George.

And once I started reading it, I couldn’t stop.

I read it from cover to cover. Then again. Then again. I’d finish it, start back at the beginning, and somehow find something new every single time. I still do.

If you’ve been following me for a long time, you might remember me talking about it. Obsessing about it, really. The Dark Moon. The goddesses. The idea that there’s a phase of the Moon we’re not meant to see, but very much meant to feel.

Looking back now, it feels like my soul was calling me through that book.

At the time, I didn’t know why I was so drawn to it. I just knew I was. The Dark Moon didn’t feel scary to me. It felt familiar. Honest. Necessary. Like the missing piece in lunar work that no one was really talking about.

What I didn’t know then was that years later, all that reading, reflecting, and quiet fascination would turn into something real.
