“If you can believe it, you can achieve it…”

Because if there is something you want to do in your life – get a new job, find a lover, start going to the gym – the first thing you need to do is close your eyes.

Just close them.

And then conjure up in your mind whatever it is that you want to have happen. Whatever it is that you want to create in your life. Whatever it is that you want to attract.

Because pretty much everything starts as a thought.

It starts as a thought of “I can do it!”

Or contrariwise, it starts as a thought of “I can’t do it!”

It starts as a thought as “I’m worthy!”

Or it starts as a thought of “I’m not good enough” or “I might fail”.

The reason why visualization is so powerful, though, is two fold.

1. Visualization shows you if you believe in yourself or not

Here’s the thing you need to know about visualising; if you just can’t visualize something, you almost certainly just don’t believe it’s possible – yet. Only yesterday I ran an online workshop and – as it was New Moon (which is the ideal time for visualizing your dreams) we did some of that.

We imagined in our mind’s eye whatever it was that we want to bring into reality. Abraham-Hicks called this “putting it into “vibrational escrow”. This means putting your dreams into the place where everything you’ve ever wanted, but have not yet received, lives.

One person just couldn’t see her dream in her mind’s eye though. And if you can’t believe it and see it, you almost certainly can’t achieve it.

So what to do? Keep on trying. Envisage events leading up to the main event. Take baby steps. See if you can hold the vision if just for a second, to start with. And make a note to yourself that you need to work on your self-belief. Maybe you need to tap it out. Maybe you need to get to the roots of your lack of belief through talking or therapy or hypnosis. Whatever the case, you have work to do and it’s worth doing!

2. Visualization makes you realise it’s possible, even if you don’t believe in yourself yet.

The second reason why visualization is so powerful, though, is that once you get passed this block, you will start to create it. Because once you can start to see your goal for real in your mind’s eye, in your head, in your imagination, then you will start to believe it’s actually possible.

You can’t see it if you can’t believe it. Once you believe it, you can achieve it.

Like Wayne Dyer said, it’s not that you will believe it when you see it (for real) but you will see it when you believe it.

Once you have the vision, then you need to embody this vision.

It’s not just about seeing it, either; it’s about stepping into that vision you have for yourself and starting to feel all the feelings you will feel when this is real.

In yesterday’s workshop as we did this process, I was imagining high five-ing someone as my wish came true. That gave me the energy to feel the joy I will feel when this manifests. You need to FEEL it in your body and visualizing it is your first step.

Over the years, many people have told me that I am excellent at manifesting. I believe that’s partly because I am also good at surrender – handing anything and everything that I am dreaming of over to the Divine. In my work with Moonology, that is something we do at Full Moon.

I have made much of this fact – that it’s what we do at Full Moon when we hand it all over to the Divine that is super important in manifesting.

But it really is a two-fold process of visualizing at:

– New Moon

– throughout the Waxing Cycle

Visualisations is just one of an arsenal of tools available to you once you start to understand that you really are creating your own reality.

Want to know more and do this better?

Once a year I run my free, 3-part Moonology training.

Thousands of amazing people join me for this free. 3-part live event when I go through all the steps to manifesting with the Moon as our cosmic timer.

I’m running it again very soon – you can sign up in advance here.

This year, the focus is on manifesting abundance.
