You may find, as I did, that astrology finds you, rather than the other way around!
For me, while I enjoyed reading my horoscopes as a teen (and even chose between two Aussie mags – Cleo or Cosmo – based on the horoscopes each month) it wasn’t until I was in my 20s and a fairly established freelance writer that I ended up writing about astrology.
What happened was an astrologer friend of mine was doing a feng shui clear out of her office and gave all her old astrology books to me. Literally hundreds, if not even thousands of dollars/pounds worth of classic astrology books by all the best authors (some of which are mentioned below).
She also taught me how to read an ephemeris (this is a book for where the planets are at any given time) and cast an astrology chart..
In a nutshell, after this, I became totally obsessed with astrology and started reading about it and practising it for literally hours and hours every day.

As I said, I was a freelance writer at the time and I eventually – after about six or so months of this – I got a little worried about how much time I was spending doing astrology. I was so fascinated, it was eating into the time I should have been spending pitching and writing articles, and earing money!
One afternoon, I told a very rational Capricorn friend of mine about this and she agreed that something needed doing. So we packed all my books up into two milk crates and took them downstairs to my garage.
Literally about one hour later, my flatmate of the time came home from work, went the garage and then came upstairs holding these same two crates of books.
He plonked them in the middle of the living and said “I don’t know what these were doing in the garage? They’re yours, aren’t they?”
My friend and I were a bit dumbstruck … and knew it was a sign! So I took the hint not to stop my studies. And here we are.
