No planets are retrograde! - Yasmin Boland

As you might have read, there are currently NO planets retrograde.

This doesn’t happen ALL that often.

Since a lot of the slower-moving outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and so on) spend a good few months in apparent reverse motion, and the faster moving planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) also don’t mind the odd backwards fling, it’s quite unusual to have everyone full steam ahead.

And it’s great news for us.

Because they’re going to stay this way until the end of April.

Before we go further, let’s define what it means for a planet to be retrograde.

From my book The Mercury Retrograde Book:

These days, with the rising interest in astrology, more and more people, even non‑astrologers, seem to have heard
about Mercury retrograde – when Mercury appears to move backwards in the sky.

Obviously, planets don’t actually turn around and start moving backwards, even though, from our viewpoint on Earth, it sometimes appears as if they do.

It’s all an optical illusion, due to the relative positions of the planet and Earth and how they move around the Sun.

For example, Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and its orbit is shorter than Earth’s – a mere 88 days compared to our 365 days. Mercury’s shorter orbit creates an optical illusion in that it appears to speed past Earth, slow down and then move in a backwards loop, giving us Mercury retrograde.

It’s the planetary equivalent of runners on a race track: the inner track is shorter than the outer track.

When a planet goes retrograde, the things associated with it slow down and unresolved or unfinished business
is often the result. We can also get indications that things are happening behind the scenes and it’s time to review the affairs of that planet.

For Mercury retrograde, that means paying especially close attention to communication, transport and new technology. Mercury also rules buying and selling, contracts and agreements, and important documents.

So when planets are moving forwards (what astrologers call ‘direct’) then none of this applies.

In fact, it’s time to
– move forwards
– go get-’em
– chase your dreams
– make up for lost time
– tick off your To Do list
– try something new
– stop thinking about what might have been
– make plans
– less navel-gazing
– more action

We have these condition in play until April 28, when Pluto will break up the forwards-motion party and go into a retrograde cycle.

This arguably couldn’t have come at a better time.

After nearly two year of living under the shadow of Covid, staying home, putting some things off and cancelling others, it’s time to move forwards again.

Maybe it’s the heavens giving us the break we need to get unstuck, right?

Think about your manifesting under the March New Moon to come. All the planets are retrograde! You can make commitments to yourself and move forwards.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

Do that!

Having no planets retrograde doesn’t promise instant success but it does mean that we’re not having the same old same old lessons and dramas shoved up our collective noses.

And that is a reason to be cheerful.

So…

Make some plans!

Move forwards!

Clear the way!

And have a great day.
