A very funny thing I have noticed about astrology is that many people don’t like their Rising Sign when they first discover it. Or they just don’t relate to it.
(The Rising Sign aka the Ascendant is *how we come across to other people*… and is the most personal point on the chart, being a sort of triangulation of the time, date and place of birth…)
When I discovered my Rising Sign, I was underwhelmed.
“What??? I’m THAT Rising Sign?” I asked the Universe.
I then tried to see if maybe I had my birth time wrong and there was a mistake! (There was no error!)
As I got into astrology, I noticed friends often had the same reaction.
My Gemini Rising friend says she can’t stand Geminis, for example.
Over and again, I see people feeling uncomfy with their Rising Sign.
Why is this so?
My theory is this; the Rising Sign is how we come across to other people, but many of us
– think we come across differently to how we do
– would LIKE to come across differently
– see ourselves differently to how others see us
As well, the Rising Sign can sometimes clash with your Sun sign, creating even more awkwardness.
But we are what we are!
So what to do?
According to one of my first astrology teachers, we need to put our SUN on our Rising. (Your Sun sign is what astrologers call your Star sign).
The SUN shows who we *really* are (whereas the RISING is our social mask/the mask we put on) …
… So if we put our SUN on our RISING, we come across as who we really are.
So what does that mean? The way I interpreted it was…
Just be more … you!
GO YOU!! It means you’re integrated and that’s a very good thing!

So what is your Rising Sign and do you LIKE it?!?!?!
