Not gonna sugar coat it... - Yasmin Boland

As much as I have loved lock-down in SO many ways (home with family, more family time, spending time with my beloved family!) … I have also gone to some really dark places during this time… not least because I lost my BELOVED Uncle Minnie but also other things… generalised fear and so on.
I truly believe that one of the things which has brought me back to the light every time is

the Maha Kali chanting I am doing on Zoom every day.

It started as an initiative from my teacher in India, Sri Sakthi Narayani Amma which I was initially a little reluctant to commit to.
I work for myself, I am a very free agent and quite the free spirit too, and the idea of committing to showing up every day on Zoom to chant seemed like too big a challenge, at first.

But my teacher persisted, so I did it.

And it has been the thing which has got me through this pandemic lock-down. So often when our teachers ask something of us, we don’t realise that they are doing it for our own good, right?
It’s like when your Mum knows best and insists on something you think could be a really bad idea but you take her advice and it turns out to have been the best move!
The chant to the Goddess Kali has helped me to process the dark times and move through any fear I may have had around the virus. I can feel it working.
It goes:
Om Kreem
Maha Kali
Sarva Rogam
Nasi Nasi
Initially it was just for people who, like me, go to the Sri Narayani Peedam in southern India. But then after I mentioned it on social media and had requests from people to tune in, I was given permission to open it up to people on Facebook. And so I did.
So if you want to tune in, it’s free (obviously) and it’s here
We chant every day at 10.30am UK time, 6.11am Eastern, 8.11pm Sydney/Melbourne/AEST
