A magical way to get a table - Yasmin Boland

I’m currently in Malta for a week. It’s half-term and my beloved uncle is unwell too, so all signs pointed to being here.

It’s been pretty amazing, as ever, not least because I got to see my lovely friend and fellow spiritual seeker Rebekah Debono who I met through my beloved cousin Sue last year.

As it happened, while I was here, Rebekah was holding a crystals course, which I did with great pleasure. I have also put it to her that we should do some crystal gridding for the New and Full Moons and she’s into it!

But that’s not why I am writing. Rather I wanted to talk about something a little magical which happened with Rebekah and my cousin Sue last night. We literally did the most fabulous piece of manifesting.

What happened was that we went to this great cafe/bar called Surfside for a drink. We call ourselves the Goddesses – I’m brunette, Sue is blonde and Rebekah is a red-head.

Surfside overlooks the sea so everyone wants a table on the outside edge of it, for the best view. As we walked in, the place was packed – there was little chance of a table at all, let alone one over the sea. As we stood talking about it and declaring our intentions, a couple stood up and prepared to leave.

Of course we took their table and were delighted.

But that was nothing.

The thing was, my husband and son were to join us half an hour later, once we had had our Goddess chats. Our table was for four people only and I was mentally calculating how we were all going to fit around it.

About 20 minutes before they were due to arrive, the table next to us became vacant. I said to Rebekah and Sue: “We need to grab it!”

“It’s a bit early,” said Sue.

Just trust…

“Just trust,” said Rebekah, or something along those lines. “We will get a table.”

“We will,” I affirmed. I felt like we would but it seemed extremely unlikely as some new people sat down next to us on one side and then the other table was vacated and and re-filled too.

Rebekah talked about how if we get too anxious about something (eg about our hubby and son not getting a seat!) we push away what we want.

Of course, I knew she was right, so I decided to stop worrying about it and just trust. I got back into our chats and forgot about it until 15 minutes later when hubby and son were due to arrive.

I glanced around the packed restaurant, still heaving with people wanting a drink or meal under the stars over the sea… and just as i did, the people who had sat down 15 minutes ago all stood up and vacated the table – the best table in the whole bar, really, being in the corner of the terrace over the sea.

“Told you we’d get a table!” said Rebekah, as we pushed to together minutes before hubby and son swanned in.

Honestly, it might not seem like much but it felt quite amazing.

The place had no seats at all, let alone one overlooking the sea, let alone one right next to us!

Rebekah reminded me. It’s all about intention. I mean, I know that, but sometimes a reminder does a power of good.

“I always get the tables I want,” she said with a smile, affirming it for next time.

Thanks Rebekah!
