How I Made A Moon Dream Real (with your help!)
Years ago, before I had written Moonology or really any books, I had this idea for a Moon diary – a journal which I or any other Moon lover could use to get in tune with every New and Full Moon of the year, where we could write down our intentions at the New Moon, and release it all at the Full Moon… and so on.
That was about 2012 when astrology and Moonology were less of a ‘thing’ than they are now.
Even so
I was lucky enough to get the chance to present the idea to an Aussie publisher – which I did with great excitement, including a speech and illustrations!
But it fell totally flat. She didn’t get my idea at all! My pitch was met with a puzzled look and a change of subject!
But I held onto that vision.
I guess I would have to say that eventually … the Sun, Moon and stars aligned!
I think technology made it easier for people to start to understand astrology and their horoscope charts, so astrology became more and MORE popular.
And guess who got the next pitch AND understood it?
Hay House UK!
About 5 years after that first pitch to the other publishers, I pitched Hay House my Moonology Diary ideas in very late 2017 – and they pretty much said yes on the spot.
The first Moonology Diary came out in 2019 and (five years later!) the 2024 version is now on sale!
I know that for many of you (because you tell me), it’s a much-loved annual guide that you look forward to… thank you! It’s sold out from all major retailers every single year since 2020!
It even made it into the Sunday Times best-sellers list (a dream come true for me!)
