Have you ever wanted to change your life? Like, really?
Eclipses can help.
I woke up today thinking about how eclipses have shaped my own life over the years, and wanted to share a story.
They’ve seen me falling in and out of love, winning and losing, and even stepping onto a totally new path.
London, 1999: A city in transition

One of the most memorable shifts came in 1999. I was an Aussie in London, in my 20s, working as a magazine journalist.
London in 1999 was a city in transition. Robbie Williams was the nation’s King of Pop. Notting Hill was making Portobello Road world-famous. And presiding over it all was a fresh Prime Minister, Tony Blair, midway through his first term and still basking in the glow of “Cool Britannia” as the millennium approached.
I was in transition too. I’d been living in London for most of the 1990s, wondering whether to stay or return to Australia.
The famous total eclipse of 1999
And then came the super-famous total solar eclipse of 1999.
The UK caught eclipse fever – totality was in Cornwall, the skies went dark, and for the first time I got to write about the astrology of it for the mainstream press, in a magazine called YOU.
That eclipse activated my 6th House – the part of the horoscope linked to daily routines. And sure enough, my routines were about to change.
From journalist to astrologer
That first article led to another, and then another, until about a couple of years later I was offered my very first weekly column on a new magazine called Closer, which is still going strong and where I still write the weekly horoscope column, all these years later!
Eventually I did move back to Sydney, but with a portfolio of spiritual articles under my belt. I was on the woo-woo path, which soon led me to meet the legendary Leon Nacson, then CEO of Hay House – and the rest is my history.
That’s how eclipses work.
Journalist one minute, astrologer the next.
If it’s meant to be, it will be. If it’s not, it won’t. Eclipses put us on the right and proper path – and I’ve never regretted where that one took me.
What will you do with the upcoming eclipses?
The last New Moon was in Virgo, and this week’s Full Moon eclipse falls in the opposite sign of Pisces. In its own way, it’s continuing the themes of that Virgo New Moon – only taking them one step further. And soon we’ll have a New Moon eclipse in Virgo itself.
Here’s what I know: eclipses are wild cards. And Virgo rules the 6th House of daily life. Which makes now the time to change your routines and reshape your days – just as I did back in 1999.
Your invitation
And if you’re ready, now is the time to join my Moonology Calling Masterclass. Find out whether your path is to do something more mystical. It can’t hurt to find out, right?!
Love,
