Not long ago, a super smart and lovely someone in my community wrote to me and said something that really struck a chord.
She told me:
“I feel like I’m doing all the manifesting and wishing, but the money still isn’t flowing. I keep setting intentions and asking the Universe, yet I’m not seeing any income come in.”
Now, I get it. When you’re in a squeeze, it’s tempting to believe that the Universe is ignoring you or that manifestation just isn’t working. But here’s the truth when it comes to manifesting or magnetising abundance: wishing alone won’t pay the bills.
That’s why my first question to her was simple:
👉 “What have you been doing to actually make more cash?”
Because yes, the Moon is a guide. Yes, setting intentions works. Yes, we can align our energy with abundance.
But if we don’t take action in the physical world, nothing changes.
She replied that she’d started writing a book, which is amazing! Creative flow, structure in place, chapters underway.
But as I reminded her, books are a long game.
They don’t usually pay the bills right away. It can take years of writing, editing, and publishing before you even begin to see a financial return, and even then, only a lucky few books become bestsellers.
That doesn’t mean she shouldn’t write her book (quite the opposite, it’s an incredible achievement!). But it does mean she needs other income streams now to support her as she creates.
For her, because of her field, that might mean mentoring, coaching, or workshops.
For you, it might mean offering readings, starting a side hustle, or doing practical work alongside your dream.

That’s really the heart of Moonology: the woo woo and the work. It’s not enough to sit under the New Moon and wish for abundance, you have to build something people can actually say yes to. The wishing and manifesting clears the energetic path. The doing creates the results.
She knows this too, by the way. She told me she was just having a bad day. But it’s a good reminder for us all!
