Where Mercury goes, our thoughts follow

You have probably heard about Mercury retrograde, right? It’s when the planet of communications appears to reverse in the skies and life can go a bit mad. But what about Mercury when it’s just being Mercury and not being retrograde? Mercury is the communications planet. Whenever you open your mouth to talk, or when you write something – anything from an SMS to a novel or beyond – or even if you just think or listen to someone, you’re using your Mercury. It’s the mind planet and it guides how you talk, write, otherwise express yourself and take in information. It’s your intellectual process. The sign and house Mercury is in will tell you how you think and express yourself, and even how you negotiate. (From my best-selling book Astrology Made Easy). So now Mercury is changing signs, moving from Pisces and back into the first sign of Aries. This affects us all in different ways. PS This is a day to definitely read your Rising Sign if you know it (or find it out here if you don’t!)

What does Mercury’s move into Aries mean for you?…

We’ve all heard the joke “But enough about me. What do YOU think of me?” The passage of Mercury into your sign means you could be a bit guilty of this now and over the coming few weeks. Having Mercury in your sign means you officially have The Gift Of The Gab now and over the next few weeks – make sure you don’t use that gift JUST to talk about yourself! You want to talk a lot and lot of what you want to talk about will be YOU. And there is nothing wrong with that – you have ideas and you need to express them and quite honestly, you shouldn’t let anyone stop you. This is actually a very positive cycle – there will be trips, news, comings and goings and plenty of very interesting people who are drawn to you now, be it for a quick chat or a long and in-depth discussion. If you’ve been hoping and praying to find the right words to express what you want , those words will come soon. It’s also an excellent time for writing – creative or otherwise.
