Uranus in Taurus dates
Because Uranus will go in and then retrograde out of Taurus, and later reach the end of Taurus and move into Gemini and then retrograde back into Taurus, there are three main cycles to be aware of. PS About the name…
Uranus is the planet that, astrologically-speaking, is said to bring rude shocks. With that in mind, it must be agreed it has a fittingly rude and somewhat shocking name.
It’s the planet which causes us to evolve and pushes us to our limits. Interestingly, when it was discovered, it “pushed the boundaries” of the known solar system which until then was thought to have ended at Saturn.
Also curiously, since Uranus symbolises about the inevitability of change, astrologically-speaking, even its name changed. The planet was discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1781, and was originally named by Herschel as Georgium Sidus (George’s Star) after Herschel’s patron, King George III. For some time it was also referred to as Herschel. Eventually, the name Uranus was settled upon. This is a Latinised version of the Greek God’s name Ouranos, the father of Saturn.
Amusingly, astronomers recently reported that the planet Uranus is loaded with hydrogen sulphide, the gas that rotten eggs emit… more shocking rudeness!
Finally, it’s also apt that, with Uranus now regarded by astrologer as the “technology” planet, that it was the first planet discovered with the use of some technology which was quite new at the time – a telescope.
