The top 6 things to do using astrology and moonology, for a better year ahead - Yasmin Boland

As we all start to think about the year ahead, there are some very obvious things for us to do. For example we can commit to

1. Drinking more clean water
2. Getting more sleep
3. Eating more organic, plant-based foods
4. Getting more exercises
5. Being kinder to ourselves and each other

But what about on a cosmic level?

Here are the top 6 things you can do using astrology and moonology, for a better year ahead.

1. Follow the Sun

The Sun takes one year to move around the zodiac. It starts and ends every year in Capricorn (where we are now). The trick to working with the Sun is to know where the Sun is and where that is in YOUR chart. Effectively, the Sun acts like a spotlight, shining on one House or another in your chart, as it goes through the 12 zodiac signs.

– Each zodiac sign represents a different House in your chart
– Each House represents a different part of your life (eg love life or money or work)
– The Sun acts like a spotlight so as the Sun goes through all 12 signs over the course of a year, it goes through all 12 Houses of your chart
– As the Sun moves through each House, you will notice that subjects to do with that House (eg love or money or kids or romance or friends or health) come to the fore.

Find out how it all works in your chart with my super simple but potentially life-changing Excel spreadsheet! Look at where the Sun is and which House that is for you based on your star sign or rising sign (better).

2. Follow the Moon

If you’re a regular reader, you will know that the monthly New Moon is the time to set your intentions, and the monthly Full Moon is the time to surrender to the Divine. If you do this every month, your life will start to change in ways you probably could never have imagined. My best-selling book Moonology explains all.

3. Think about Mercury

Where Mercury goes, your mind follows. Predict what’s going to be on your mind by staying mindful of where the Mind Planet Mercury is as the year unfolds. I will write about it in my daily horoscopes. But if you want to do it yourself, this Excel spreadsheet will help!

4. Pay attention to Venus

And where Venus goes, romance and riches also potentially follow. But not always. Sometimes what follows are hiccups and challenges to do with romance and riches, depending on what Venus is doing as she makes her way around your chart. Again, if you want to know where Venus is at any one time, just look at which SIGN she is in as she moves around the skies and use the Excel spreadsheet here to work out which House the planet of love and abundance is for you. Once you get the hang of it, it’s simple!

5. Work with Mars

Looking at where Mars is at any one time means knowing where you have more room for argy-bargy and more drive. The now-famous Excel spreadsheet here will explain all.

6. Learn your lessons

And this one is good as it’s applicable for two years. Wherever Saturn goes, lessons follow. At the time of writing (January 2019) Saturn is in Capricorn where it will stay all year. So look at the Excel spreadsheet here and look at your star sign (or better yet rising sign) and look at the column marked Planet in Capricorn and run your finger along to see where the two meet and that’s where you have lessons coming – the number tells you which HOUSE and then there is a list of the areas each House covers below the table.
