Balsamic Moon into Pisces

Yesterday I told you about my trip to Paramahansa Yogananda’s Self-Realisation Fellowship (SRF) gardens in southern California (Encintas, to be exact) here.

Today I want to tell you more…

I went to the SRF as it’s known with my friend Jane Purchall, who is a meditation and self-transformation teacher that I have known for at least 20 years. In fact, Jane was the person who kick-started my spiritual journey in some ways. I had already learned how to meditate (from a Buddhist monk called Werner at the Clapham Buddhist Centre) but Jane helped me take it all to the next level.

We hadn’t seen each other in a while so we had tons to talk about – however once you’re in the SRF grounds, you’re asked not to talk, so we walked around the block once to finish our conversation before going into the centre.

Our first stop was actually the shop, on Jane’s recommendation. Great idea. It had an amazing vibe. In fact, as soon as I walked in there I smiled at her and mouthed “I feel at home!”

Smells like home…

Maybe it was the incense or the crystals or the chimes or just the whole thing, but it felt amazing. I picked up a few knick-knacks including a book called The Yoga of Jesus: Understanding the Hidden Teachings of the Gospels, which I am now reading and will write more about another time, perhaps.

Once we had got our consumerism out of the way, Jane led us into the gardens, up a hill towards a coastal lookout, I felt my ego just falling away. At the top of the hill, we came to a cliff top with a magnificent view over the ocean, which was glistening in the Californian sun, just like in the image at the top of this post.

What do to? Meditate of course!

Without saying a word, we both knew exactly what to do next. We sat down on the bench and meditated. Awesome. Doing a meditation with the sun beating down on my head, fresh air in my lungs and the sound of seagulls in my ears so incredibly uplifting, I can’t remember what, if anything, came to me in particular during my meditation, but I know I felt very relaxed afterwards.

After this, we wandered back down towards the main gardens, happening upon a little glen or glade with a massive tree in the middle of it. There was another bench to sit on so I indicated the Jane that I wanted to sit with the tree for a moment. As I said, I got a major download and this time I do remember it! It was actually the outline of a short online course that I want to put together for YOU. It came in, fully formed, unmistakably clear. I hope it will be of service to everyone who takes it (once I have made it!)

I told Jane about this afternoon and she waggled her finger at me and told me that I did need to do it, it needed to be done very professionally, and made me commit to it. So I did!

Have a beautiful day.

Yasmin
