Yes October is re-evaluation time. Why? Because the love and abundance planet Venus is retrograde. And Venus is all about values and what really matters.

Venus is going backwards…
If you follow astrology, you might remember that back in July/August we had a super retrograde period where just about every planet that could be retrograde (Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) was. However there was one notable exception; the love and abundance planet Venus.
That was then and now most of the planets are moving forwards again. However, this month, on October 6, Venus now goes retrograde. So what does it mean?
As always when a planet is reversing (or appearing to) we get second chances. In this case, Venus retrograde brings second chances to do with love or abundance. In other words, if you are keen to reunite with a past lover or make up with a dear friend after a falling out, it’s possible.
As well, because Venus is about abundance, if you want to renegotiate a financial agreement you have, any time this month after the 6th is potential-packed (especially around the 24th and 31st).
Note that Venus retrograde is also an excellent time for forgiveness so if you wronged someone and want to make amends, October (after the 6th) is a brilliant time to extend the olive branch.

NEW MOON IN LIBRA
Also this month we get the New Moon in Libra
New Moon on October 9 (Sydney) at 16 Libra
New Moon details:
SYDNEY: October 9, 2.46pm
NEW YORK: October 8, 11.46pm
LONDON: October 9, 4.46am
In a way, this will serve to give the Venus retrograde cycle extra power, since Venus and Libra are strongly connected. It also adds weight to the idea that this is the month to work on your relationships, especially any which have been troubled.
Libra is the sign of relating and the New Moon in Libra each year is the ideal time to recommit to the people you care about. This particular New Moon will be clashing with the planet Pluto making it the right time to sever toxic relationships. This doesn’t apply to just romantic relationships – it applies to anyone you relate to, including family and professional connections.
Finally, October is also a wonderful time to decide to let go of a grudge. Life really is too short!

FULL MOON IN TAURUS

The Full Moon this month takes place in the sign of Taurus which is the sign that you could say is “electrified” right now. Reason being, the planet of electricity, chaos and sudden reversals, Uranus, is in Taurus, and has been for some time.
Indeed, the Full Moon this month actually triggers Uranus, taking place almost right on top of it. Full Moons are always intense, but the Full Moon/Uranus energies this month mean this Full Moon will be super-charged. On the one hand, it makes October excellent for moving on from anyone or anything holding you back.
Liberation is the name of the game. On the other hand, we do need a slight caution; don’t cut what you can untie! Happily, the Full Moon will be in harmony with the nearby planet Saturn, so even if life feels a bit chaotic to start with, overall any changes now should ultimately lead to increased stability later. Think of dramas this month as “the upheaval you had to have”!
