This is the email Dave has sent me to apologise.
I’ve looked at all of your replies to me and re-read them over and over and can see you are hurt by what I wrote. That was never my intention and in retrospect I probably did come down pretty heavy on you. Look, the fact of the matter is that I interpreted what you wrote to mean something different to what you intended it to be. Someone else has also indicated this fact – someone whose opinion I value – which has hereby formed the difference in tenor in this reply to you.
OK, in respect to announcing the eclipse I’ll concede that your intention was correct and your ideals laudable. It just didn’t read right, to me at least, so I interpreted it as another misinformed astrologer prying into our science once more. I have had this happen time and time again, so maybe I’m a little sensitive to it … or more sensitive than most.
In respect to the letters I did allude to the fact there was no signatory, and I do not apologize for that. I might have made that fact obvious in your case because it looked suspicious. You charge well for your services and things like this could be made to colour the ‘product.’ It’s too easy to lay a piece of text down, ostensibly from another person, without at least some reference to identity. I too receive dozens of letters in the form of emails weekly and like you post them BUT I still add an identification factor at the end… Mary B. from Newcastle for instance… or Tom C., Armidale.
(Note to readers – I said to David that I recieve MANY more emails than appear in my column and have no need to invent them – as readers of this site know! The reason I don’t print names is because a name plus a birthdate makes people way too easy to identify, which is not desirable when the content is often sensitive and person. Plus and there is no need for it, since I know and the reader knows their email is real!) Back to Dave…
So, if I distressed you I apologize. My attack was not meant to be personal but apparently did turn out that way. I’m not nasty just for the heck of it. Probably, like you, I’m another seeker of the truth trying to puzzle this Universe out – we just work in different directions I guess. Just so you’ll understand, I’ll not change my opinions on astrology, I’ll continue to point out to all and sundry it’s unscientific assumptions, it’s loosely based ideology and it’s (to me) invented set of guidelines. I’ll never understand how gullible most people are in ruling their lives by these principles.
Lastly you say: “I ‘ m guessing you are simply too proud to admit your error.” Well maybe I am. In hindsight I may have jumped in too quick. But you know what; I didn’t get a respected international profile in my game by being pig-headed. I’ve made some pretty good observations over the years … and I’ve made a few duds too…. and I’ve criticized when I believed an injustice has been done or certain principles have been compromised. I’ll never stand accused of hitting and running though or refusing to admit a mistake. Not what I’m about.
Take this as my way of attempting to dilute the distress caused and accept my apologies for it. I’ll remove the critique of your article on my webpage at my earliest opportunity tomorrow. By the way, good luck in the future and hope it all goes well for you … errr, but, you already know that, right? J

In a nutshell, parabens are a preservative found in 90% of women’s personal care products (lotions, potions, creams and makeup etc).
They’ve been used for decades – but in our mothers’ or grandmothers’ day, they were found in 10% of products only.
Because they are so old, they come under what’s called “the Grandfather Clause” which means that they are not tested for safety as they have been used for so long.
However, parabens have been found in BREAST CANCER TUMOURS and doctors say the only way they can get in there is via the personal care products they are found in.
Parabens may even be responsible for the increase in breast cancer. They may explain why women get breast cancer so many more times than men.
Some companies are now onto this and are starting to make paraben-free products. Paraben is only a preservative and easy enough to take out. The other day in my local KMart I found some lovely body scrub which was marked “This product contains no parabens”… it’s happening!
Is it in your creams? Read the indredients and look for ‘parabens’ or ‘ethylparaben’ or similar. All we can do is vote with our wallets.
Saturn is the planet who demands the TRUTH and stands for NO NONSENSE. Virgo is the sign ruling HEALTH and especially ALTERNATIVE HEALTH. As Saturn moves through Virgo, companies will start to make changes.
