As you might know, the May 25 2013 eclipse cometh! This time, it’s a Full Moon one.
Someone on my Facebook page asked me: I know that eclipses are about change, but is there a difference between a lunar eclipse and a solar eclipse (astrologically speaking, natch)? Thanks.
This is a longer version of my reply…
Yes, there is a difference but in my humble opinion, the difference is more subtle than you might think!
For me, ultimately, eclipses are just big celestial fingers pointing to a part of your chart due for change. So at the start of the year, you might look at where the eclipses are going to be taking place for the coming 12 months and look at your chart and see where change is being foisted upon you, ready or not.
In my heart, I truly believe the idea that we come to this earth with a certain set of aims and achievements we want to accomplish, to help our soul to evolve. For example, we might need to overcome our fears of lack and limitation, or we might want to deal with self-love.
For my money, the eclipses are the times of the year when we are shunted back on track, sometimes quite unceremoniously, if we are not accomplishing what our souls set out to achieve in this incarnation. So whether it’s a New Moon or a Full Moon seems less important to me than the sign and house it’s taking place in.
Of course if you understand astrology, this makes more sense! But in a nutshell, if you read your horoscope around the time of an eclipse, you should get an idea of where the energies are for you.
Here is where they are for the May 25 2013 eclipse:
Aries – re travel and study
Taurus – re sex and money
Gemini – re love
Cancer – re your daily work
Leo – re romance, creativity and kids
Virgo – re your home and family
Libra – re your neigbourhood, siblings and commuication
Scorpio – re cash, property and possessions
Sagittarius – your whole life!
Capricorn – re your spiritual life
Aquarius – re your friends
Pisces – at work

Also note that eclipses come in pairs, so they tend to work with each other. The Full Moon might flag something for your attention and the New Moon might work with that part of your life to give you a boost to make things more manageable, or vice versa.
New Moon eclipses tend to be more about beginnings and Full Moon eclipses are more likely to show you where something has run its course and now you have to accept that and move up to the next stage…
